Monday, 09 January 2012
Class of '55

The Union was saddened to hear of the sudden passing whilst on holidays of Tom Maher, Carrick on Shannon.

Tom (class of '55) will be well known not only to past men of the 50's, but all past men and travellers who availed of his legendary hospitality, be that at the Bush Hotel, Hollywell Country House or the Oarsman Bar & Restaurant. Boating enthusiasts on the River Shannon will also remember Tom fondly, for many of the amenities they currently enjoy, were delivered by Tom in his role as Chair of the Inland Waterways Association of Ireland.

The Union would like to extend the heartfelt sympathies of all Past men to his wife Rosaleen, Daughter Claire, Sons, Conor, Ronan and Tom.

May he rest in peace.
